Sharif Aly

(Aly Lab) is located at the heart of the dairy industry in Tulare, CA at UC Davis' Veterinary Medicine Teaching and Research Center. My research and outreach to the dairy industry has targeted prevention and control of mastitis, bovine respiratory disease in calves, infectious diseases of dairy cattle including salmonellosis and paratuberculosis. My welfare portfolio of research has grown in the last decade to help the dairy industry meet societal expectations and has advanced our knowledge in bovine euthanasia, disbudding calves, group housing in the preweaned period, stable fly biting all of which are serious welfare issues in dairy cattle.
